Founding DeclarationsIn George Barna’s book The Power of Vision, he suggests that “a mission statement is a broad, general statement about who you wish [the organization] to reach and what the [organization] hopes to accomplish…. The vision statement ‘puts feet’ on the mission, detailing how the [ministry organization] will influence the world in which it will minister. Thus, while the mission statement is philosophic in nature, the vision statement is strategic in character.” It was according to this philosophy that Perfect Word’s mission and vision statements were composed. As such, they are intended to direct and provide strategy for accom-plishing Perfect Word’s overarching goals from an organizational standpoint. Conse-quently, their value is primarily for internal purposes—to assist in the daily and long-term operations and ventures of the ministry. While you may find these statements meaningful or even helpful in further understanding what Perfect Word does and how the ministry will accomplish its goals, they are provided here solely for informational purposes. For a detailed, yet concise description of the purpose and nature of the work of Perfect Word ministries, please read about Perfect Word. The Statement of Faith (right) is provided not for the purpose of doctrinal assertion, but as a summary of core convictions—that it may serve as a starting place for communicating common beliefs, and the foundation of Perfect Word’s relationship with you. Statement of FaithWe believe in the One (אחד) True God, יהוה, Adonai, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; perfect and holy; Maker of all; who was and is, and is to come—that the Will of the Father is known through the Son, Yeshua the Messiah, the Word of God who became flesh, and is revealed by the Holy Spirit. We believe that God made man in His own image for His glory, that man is separated from God by his sin, and, apart from God’s loving-kindness, is incapable of turn-ing to Him. God chose and set apart Israel—the physical descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob… the Jewish people—to be a kingdom of priests for the reconciliation of the nations to God. It is from Israel, and in fulfillment of the covenants God continues to keep with her, that came the one Mediator between God and man, the Master Yeshua the Messiah, being both fully human and fully God, who redeemed man from sin through His death and resurrection. Through Yeshua, man is brought near to God, and the gate to salvation (ישועה, yeshuah) is opened for all who believe in His Name. We believe that the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit), through the proclamation of the Good News of Yeshua the Messiah, renews man’s heart, causing him to reform, and confess Yeshua as Master. By the same Spirit, man is led to trust in God’s mercy, whereby he is forgiven for all his sins, made right before God by faith alone, and given the free gift of eternal life. We believe that the whole of Scripture (the Tanakh, “Old Testament,” and the Greek Texts, “New Testament,” together) is the true, Perfect Word of God—that it is com-plete, solely authoritative and fully trust-worthy. |
