the article was very good . as a gentile believer in Messiah Yeshua , purim was my first experinence with a messianic congregation it was fun then and still remains my favorite jewish holiday and still fun! though it is pointed out that G-ds silence is evident. i never noticed till it was pointed out... i just knew or assumed His timing and planning (His Hand) was in what happened each step of the way with Esther, (ahhhh) the King, Mordichi (yeay) and Haman (boooo) hope you all had a great time of fellowship , worship and Joyful expression this Purim

Thank you, Kevin, for so eloquently drawing our focus to Adonai. May we be "only who he wants us to be." Happy grogger swinging...

We never celebrate Purim as our Rabbi only follows ADONAI's appointed festivals.

I agree with what Kevin wrote about commemorating those days with zest ands zeal more than ADONAI's days; (definitely something not right about that).

I too am a Christian living as one "grafted into" the Abrahamic covenant. I wasnt aware of the celebrations involved either. This will be my 3rd Purim observance and as always I will be in expectation of God doing for me what He did for His people then...even though He may appear uninvolved, he's there turning my seemingly hopeless situations into victories! I love to tell the story of Purim to my family and friends. It is filled with such hope at the perfect time.....the end of a silent winter.

What a superbly written article!
As a gentile and christian teacher of mathematics in an orthodox school, I was very surprised to discover the lavish celebrations associated with the feast of Purim.
This is virtually unknown to the non-jewish world; at least it was to me, prior to my appointment in said school.
So, I am eternally grateful to you for so clearly and succintly, yet gently, drawing all who indulge in celebrations of these and any other holi-days, not designated by Adonai, to consider with due care, how we spend our time...see Eph.5:15-17.
